Sixteen Contests across the country Thursday opened up the Primary Period of the 2025 NCAA Event and probably to some extent busted at least part of your March Madness bracket in the process. Perhaps you picked High Points to take down Purdue or thought No. 1 seed Houston — without any reason whatsoever — may be vulnerable against a No. 16 seed.
That’s OK. The tourney moves on regardless and whatever pool you’re in is unlikely to be decided from the Primary day of the Primary Period.
Our Club of experts of Duration nailed every Option in their brackets below. (OK, so Perhaps we didn’t.) But our picks are Yet out there to Hit as a guide for what mayhem may come about in the coming Intervals and which Club or Clubs could be on Shock alert as we gear up for Period 2.

2025 NCAA Event bracket predictions
Gary Parrish
Auburn has been college basketball’s best Club throughout this season that’s more than four months Aged — and that’s why I’m sticking with the Tigers to Secure the national Division Regardless of their recent struggles. Yes, I know they’ve lost three of their past four Contests. Yes, I know no Club has ever won the NCAA Event after losing three-of-four Contests Only before Option Sunday. But Bruce Pearl has been making history his whole life, and I won’t be surprised if he does it again. Auburn will cut nets in San Antonio. Johni Broome will be the Last Four’s Most Outstanding Player.

Over the past five seasons, it’s Honest to say no program has been more Reliable, more rugged, more stubbornly successful to Secure on their terms than Kelvin Sampson’s Cougars. Two years removed from a top-Ranked Houston Club having a chance to Secure it all in their home city, I’ve Acquired UH finishing the Position in 2025 in its home state. My reason: Outstanding coaches — often, though not always — reached the mountaintop. Sampson is a Outstanding Trainer. This Club is the best Charge and has the 3-Points Charge, by Extended, of any Club he’s had. From Joseph Tugler’s Protection to J’Wan Roberts’ brute Existence to LJ Cryer, Emanuel Pointed and Milos Uzan’s sharpshooting capabilities, all the pieces are in place for the Coogs to celebrate in San Antonio.

There is an obvious unknown here with Duke after Sun Newcomer Cooper Flagg — the favorite to Secure National Player of the Year, the frontrunner to be the No. 1 NBA Draft Option and the all-everything for the Blue Devils — went down in the ACC Event with an ankle sprain. But if Flagg can nurse himself back to Packed health or something close to Packed health as Duke makes a Streak, then I’m simply betting on the Club I think has the most talent Guided by the best player in the sport. That can take the Blue Devils the distance and I’m projecting it will. Duke won 31 Contests leading into the NCAA Event and 26 of its last 27 Contests. It did not have the resume of No. 1 overall seed Auburn — which Duke beat during that Streak — but it has been the best Club in college basketball for much of that span. Of Duration, the best Club doesn’t always emerge from the bracket, but in this case I think Duke can do it.
David Cobb
Florida is Joining the NCAA Event after a dominant tear through the SEC Event that capped an impressive season for a Club that has no obvious weaknesses. The Gators have Top-tier guards and a convoy of high-motor bigs who are Indomitable on the boards. After grinding through the SEC, the Gators won’t flinch in potential matchups with two-time reigning national champion UConn or with St. John’s and legendary Trainer Rick Pitino. Florida has everything it needs to Secure it all, including a ton of momentum Joining the Event.
Jerry Palm
Florida is on a heater Joining the NCAA Event coming off a dominant performance in the SEC Event. Winners of 12 of their last 13 Contests, all but three by double-digit margins, the Gators look every bit the part of a national champion. Their last six wins are all Quad 1 Contests. They will probably find the Primary few rounds of the NCAA Event to be easier than what they are used to seeing night in and night out in the Division. Walter Clayton Jr. leads a balanced scoring Charge in which six players average 8 ppg. It is going to take a very Excellent Club on a very Excellent day to take down Florida.
Dennis Dodd
The difference in Houston this season is Stability. To go along with the nation’s best scoring Protection is an effective Charge. The Cougars are top 20 in three-Points shooting. The Threesome of L.J. Cryer, Milos Uzan and Emanuel Pointed are actually one of the better scoring forces in the Event. Uzan Only Arrived off a Profession-hgh 25 points against Arizona in the Big 12 Event Division Game.Pointed was the most outstanding player of the Event. Kelvin Sampson gets top rebounder J’Wan Roberts (ankle) back for the NCAA Event. This is Sampson’s best Club he has had at Houston. A Last Four is almost a lock. Then we’ll see if that Stability transfers to Secure a national Division. The Cougars are 25-2 since Nov. 30. The only conference loss is by 1 to Texas Tech. Observe Sampson himself. If he wins it all at 69 is this his walk off in San Antonio.
Chip Patterson
Auburn and Houston face absolute landmines on the way to the Last Four and that opens things up for Duke and Florida, who may be the No. 2 and No. 4 seeds in this Event according to the Option Board but are the No. 1 and No. 2 Clubs on the board for the national title odds. The ACC and SEC Event champs All showed their Adaptability over the last week, and that’s why I think they’ll endure the path to the title game. Duke won two and a half Contests without Sun Cooper Flagg (ankle) and looked excellent against Louisville with the Blue Devils’ depth on Packed display. Florida Only beat three of the top 18 Clubs in the NCAA Event Option Board’s rankings in back-to-back nights en route to cutting down nets in Nashville. Ultimately I’ll take Duke over Florida in the title game but feel more confident about both Clubs making the Last Four than who ends up on top if they should meet on the Last Monday night of the season.
Cameron Salerno
Duke enters the NCAA Event feeling relieved after superstar Newcomer Cooper Flagg appears to have escaped a potential Event-altering Wound. The Blue Devils showed their depth and experience during the ACC Event without Flagg in the lineup and have a favorable draw to get back to the Last Four. Flagg can bring a Division back home to Duke and solidify himself as one of the most accomplished one-and-done players in college basketball history by Victorious a national title. Duke will be the last Club standing in San Antonio.
Isaac Trotter
Duke has lost one game since Nov. 28. One. That’s Only so Tough for me to overlook, and I like Duke’s processes on both ends of the floor. The Blue Devils Produce a boatload of catch-and-shoot 3-pointers or shots at the rim. Duke also is Top-tier at protecting the rim with Perhaps the best Try-blocker in the 2025 NBA Draft. What does this recipe remind you of? Oh, UConn. The game plans that fueled UConn can be the exact same Scheme Duke uses to Secure the title.
