Rohit Sharma will open for India in the Champions Trophy 2025 match against Bangladesh, which is scheduled to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

The Indian men’s cricket team will open its campaign in the Champions Trophy 2025 on Thursday, February 20, against Bangladesh in Dubai. The match between the two Asian teams is scheduled to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and will start at 2:30 PM IST. During the match against Bangladesh, Indian captain Rohit Sharma will have a chance to break multiple records.

Rohit, who made his ODI debut for India on June 23, 2007, against Ireland in Belfast, has 10,988 runs to his name in 268 matches played so far. If he manages to score at least 12 runs on Thursday, then Rohit will become the fourth Indian and overall 10th batter in the world to score 11,000 runs in the 50-over format of the game.

Rohit scored 137 runs from 126 balls in the quarterfinal match of the 2015 ODI World Cup in Melbourne, 123 not out from 129 balls in the semi-final of the 2017 Champions Trophy, and 104 runs from 92 balls in the league stage match of the 2019 ODI World Cup played at Edgbaston on July 2, 2019.
