The 2024/25 PDC World Darts Championship is here and 96 players are competing for the richest prize in the sport.
This is one of the best events on the British sporting calendar these days, and the winner walks home with a cool six-figure sum, and the Sid Waddel Trophy.
This is a tournament that makes new stars, just ask Luke Littler.
Last year, the then-16-year-old stunned everyone by reaching the final on his debut only to lose 7-4 to Luke Humphries.
Despite that, ‘The Nuke’ became an overnight sensation and will look to go one better this time around to further boost his earnings.
PDC World Darts Championship: Prize money
The 96 players taking part in this edition of the PDC World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace are competing for a huge prize pot worth £2.5 million.
Every player who has made the event will walk away with a guaranteed £7,500.
From there, the money gradually increases round by round until we get to the final four.
The semi-finalists claim £100,000 each.
Whoever finishes as runner-up will take home £200,000, while the winner claims a whopping £500,000.
Humphries managed to change his life by claiming that prize last time, and he’ll be out to do it again.
However, Littler and plenty of others will no doubt have something to say about that.
