For Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, it was always meant to be.
Kansas City Chiefs fans and NFL devotees know Mahomes as ‘Showtime,’ the gunslinging $450 million quarterback who consistently pulls off the unbelievable on the field.
But when the former Texas Tech standout married high school sweetheart Brittany Matthews on March 12, 2022, a three-time Super Bowl champion showed off a new side of his NFL self.
Mahomes was dedicated to brilliant no-look touchdowns, 400-yard passing days and AFC Championships.
The son of a Major League Baseball player was also dedicated to his growing family, which would soon include a daughter, Sterling Skye, and son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
Mahomes and Brittany are currently expecting a third child.
“On a day that was meant to celebrate you, you turned it into celebrating us,” Brittany posted on September 1, 2020 after their engagement.
“It’s always us, it’s always you and me.
“The words you looked into my eyes and said to me at this moment, will NEVER leave my mind!
“You made this day perfect, you took my entire breath away and I could not have imagined anything better.
“I love you, forever and always! Cheers to spending our lifetime together and an inseparable bond.”

Mahomes married Brittany in Hawai’i.
After dating at Whitehouse High School in Texas, they stayed together while Mahomes balanced football with baseball at Texas Tech.
His future wife also played soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler, which later came into play when Brittany became a founding co-owner of the Kansas City Current in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Mahomes went full circle after the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV on February 2, 2020.
He received his first world championship ring, then proposed to Brittany on the same September day.
Travis Kelce attended the wedding ceremony in Maui.
Three years later, Kelce became involved with Taylor Swift and the Chiefs teammates were soon part of headline-driving power couples.
Brittany was regularly seen enjoying Kansas City wins in the same suite with a dancing Swift.
After another Chiefs Super Bowl to cap off the 2023 season, Mahomes and Brittany joined Kelce and Swift in several highly public outings.
For years, Brittany supported Mahomes’ NFL dream.
Now the three-time Super Bowl winner praises his high school sweetheart for everything “she does” to keep their family enjoying life to the fullest.
