Angel Reese has landed another job.
The WNBA star will be in New Orleans this weekend for the Super Bowl as she takes on a surprise new coaching role.
The Super Bowl LIX Flag Football Game will take place on Saturday and Reese is one of the stars headlining the event.
The WNBA phenom will serve as a coach for the NFL and YouTube’s Creator Flag Football Game.
The special event is set to be the biggest and most epic flag football match the NFL has ever produced, with the two teams captained by popular streamers iShowSpeed and Kai Cent.
Retired NFL legends Michael Vick and Cam Newton will also appear, alongside musicians Latto, Quavo, and Sexyy Red, and athletes Shedeur Sanders and Jordan Chiles.
Popular comedian Druski will serve as the head referee.
The game takes place on February 8 as a precursor to Super Bowl LIX on February 9 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
Reese has been revealed as the coach for Team Kai and announced the new role on her podcast, ‘Unapologetically Angel’, as she shared her excitement.
“I’m coaching Team Kai live at the Super Bowl Flag Football Game on YouTube,” she said.
“Tune in to see if I bring home the dub.”
The NFL aims to showcase flag football’s accessibility and fun as it gears up for its debut in the 2028 Summer Olympics.
During Super Bowl week, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the league has been in discussions with investors about a pair of professional flag football leagues—one for men, and one for women.
“This is something that we’ve been working on for several months [with] a tremendous amount of interest from players, from investors,” Goodell said at his pre-Super Bowl press conference.
The hope is that the blend of sports with pop culture in the Super Bowl LIX Flag Football Game will appeal to younger audiences.
“By combining YouTube creators, NFL legends, celebrities and artists, we’re creating truly unique experiences and access that fans can only get on YouTube,” YouTube Vice President of Connected TV and Creative Studios Angela Courtin shared in a press statement.
“This underscores our commitment to pushing the boundaries of sports entertainment, building community and delivering fresh, engaging content to a wider audience than ever before.”
Reese has rocketed to fame in the last 18 months after her initial breakthrough in April 2023 when she won the NCAA championship at LSU.

The Chicago Sky Forward has been catapulted into superstardom as a WNBA player, featuring on the cover of Vogue and having her own signature shoe with Under Armor.
Big brand partnerships are not something Reese has hidden away from as she embraces her newfound fame as a global athlete.
Just recently, the 22-year-old was announced as one of the Met Gala host committee members, becoming the first women’s basketball player to land the role.
The annual fashion event aims to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and celebrities form part of a committee whose job it is to ensure the objectives are met.
Furthermore, Reese teamed up with McDonald’s when she signed a historic deal with the world’s largest food chain.
The basketball star is releasing the ‘Angel Reese Special’, a quarter-pounder burger that will hit the menus soon.
The deal is historic because this is the first time McDonald’s have partnered with a female athlete, signaling Reese’s growing influence.
Aside from the new deals, Reese has also kept busy this off-season by competing in the debut of Unrivaled, a professional 3-on-3 basketball tournament made up on WNBA stars that is currently underway and ends in mid-March.
