Daniel Dubois will defend his IBF heavyweight title against Joseph Parker next weekend in a mouthwatering clash.

The British heavyweight destroyed Anthony Joshua in his last fight, brutally knocking out the former world champion.

He has already publicly called out Oleksandr Usyk for a rematch after their first clash in Poland in 2023 saw the Ukrainian elite TKO Dubois.

However, there was some controversy in that fight as the Brit was adjudged to have hit Usyk with a low blow, meaning he was given time to recover when he could have been counted out.

He then got off the canvas and finished the fight pretty quickly, so Dubois wants another chance to face the undefeated champion and challenged him in the ring after Usyk beat Tyson Fury for a second time.

But standing in his way of that is Parker, who is a former WBO champion himself, and he wants that IBF belt.

The 33-year-old has enjoyed an excellent career and is coming into this off the back of wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.

This 12-round heavyweight title bout will take place on Saturday, February 22 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Official start times are yet to be announced but the undercard is expected to get going from 6pm UK time.

The ring walks for this bout will then be at around 10pm.

Dubois vs Parker: What has been said?

Parker believes he will have more heart than Dubois, telling Sky Sports: “It depends. If it gets too hard, he will look for a way out.

“But if it’s going his way, he’ll keep going. It’s my job to go out there and offset what he’s going to bring and follow my game plan.”

He also discussed that fact he’s going into the fight as a stepping stone for Dubois to face Usyk.

“Listen, it can be a mistake,” the New Zealander said. “In boxing, they always try and set up big fights in the future.

“If he is trying to set that up, he has to get past me first.”

On his own plans, he continued: “For now I just want to focus on Daniel Dubois. I don’t want to look too far ahead.

“I want to prepare for him and take him seriously.

“Once that fight’s done and I win, I can look at other fights.”

Meanwhile, Dubois has explained why he decided to jump into the ring and call out Usyk in December.

He said: “This is boxing at the end of the day, any publicity is good publicity.

“If they hate it or they like it then yeah. I’ve been boxing long enough to understand that now.

“It’s not all about having everything your way and everyone love you, but as long as they want to see you that is all that matters.

“But at the end of the day, I want to get through Parker and then that fight [with Usyk] is done.

“It’s all about making noise, and as a world champion you can choose your destiny and path.

“I’m just challenging in my eyes and I want to become undisputed champion and that’s my intentions.”
