Tom Brady’s daughter screamed ‘Daddy, No’ before NFL icon produced legendary Super Bowl parade moment

Tom Brady’s first Super Bowl as a broadcaster is in the books.

The NFL legend was in the booth for Fox Sports alongside Kevin Burkhardt as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.

Brady, who works as an analyst under a 10-year, $375million deal, has received a mixed reaction from fans this season.

At times, he has been described as ‘wooden’, ‘stilted’ or ‘awkward’ – but given he is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, he also provides an insight into the game that few others could.

In fact, when it comes to the Super Bowl itself, there is surely no one better placed than Brady to break down the action.

He played in a record 10 of them, winning seven.

Brady’s final triumph came with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Super Bowl LV in 2021.

He threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns on the night, as the Bucs beat the Chiefs 31-9 at Raymond James Stadium.

As is tradition, Tampa Bay followed their Super Bowl win with a parade – despite being in the middle of the Covid pandemic.

The celebrations unfolded on February 10, 2021, and saw Buccaneers players and staff live up to their name by taking the Lombardi Trophy for a cruise through town on the Hillsborough River.

Fans lined the banks around them and some even hit the water, arriving on paddle boards and Jet Skis to celebrate with the team.

It was a day of chaos, and one moment involving Brady – who was named MVP in the game – will never be forgotten.

The quarterback decided it was a good idea to toss the Lombardi Trophy from his $2million boat across open water and into the hands of tight-end Cameron Brate, who was on another vessel.

Footage of the moment quickly went viral, and was seen millions of times on social media.

In one video, Brady’s daughter Vivian can be heard yelling, ‘Daddy, No!’ as he throws the trophy.

Weeks after the parade, the seven-time Super Bowl champion appeared on TV to discuss the drunken chaos that unfolded.

“I don’t remember that quite as well,” Brady joked about his lack of sobriety, during a conversation with James Corden on the Late Late Show.

“First of all, I was not thinking at that moment. There was not a thought. It was, ‘This seems like really fun to do.’

“When you get your hands on one of those trophies, there are a lot of really sharp edges on the bottom where the stand is.

“Obviously, the ball is what it is. And then I found out later that had that been an incomplete pass, that would have went down like 80 feet.”

The seven-time Super Bowl champion went on to describe his daughter as the ‘voice of reason’ as the trophy-throwing moment unfolded.

“That’s my little eight-year-old daughter (shouting) ‘Daddy, no!'” Brady continued.

“And who could imagine that an eight-year-old girl would have the most sense of anybody in that whole area at the time?

“She’s the voice of reason. I mean, go figure. It was really cute.”

Brady’s own parade days might be behind him now, and this year, it will be up to the city of Philadelphia to match the energy he brought back in 2021.

Given that Philly is considered one of the best sports cities in the US, Friday’s Eagles parade could well provide some moments that match the Bucs’ Lombardi toss.
