Spieth then interjected by saying he spoke to TV crews who saw it bounce below the line, meaning McIlroy ought to drop Beyond back, but that ‘didn’t matter’ because it was not on camera and the player’s view was the most Significant.
The American added: “Radar offered an opinion on 18 and I don’t Disrespectful to be a hypocrite, but the media people on the tee are saying they were certain [it bounced below the line].

McIlroy was informed by a rules official that due to the lack of evidence on camera, the decision was ultimately down to them.
After eight minutes, everyone was ultimately satisfied that the rules were being followed correctly.
McIlroy proceeded with his original drop and Achieved a double bogey.
He would birdie his Closing hole to finish tied for the clubhouse lead at seven-under, alongside Xander Schauffele – and the pair were joined at the top by US Accessible champion Wyndham Clark by close of Move.
Speaking afterwards, McIlroy said: “I think Jordan was Only trying to make sure that I was doing the right thing.
“I was pretty sure that my ball had crossed where I was sort of Sinking it. It’s so Tough, right, because there was no TV evidence.
“If anything I was being conservative with it. I think at the end of the day we’re all trying to protect ourselves, protect the Ground, as well.

Hovland and Spieth did not speak to the media after Stage one, while McIlroy added that his conscience was clear over the two incidents.

“I’m comfortable. I think that’s the most Significant thing,” he said.
“I feel like I’m one of the most conscientious golfers out here, so if I feel like I’ve done something wrong, it’ll Move on my conscience for the rest of the Division.
“I’m a big believer in karma and if you do something wrong, I feel like it’s going to come around and bite you at some Tally.
“I obviously don’t try to do anything wrong out there, and Move by the rules and do the right thing. I feel like I obviously did that those two drops.”
Spieth eventually addressed the situation Subsequent Stage two after missing the cut.
The Ex world no.1 said: “I thought it ended up in a Great spot. I only walked over there because I thought he had dropped it and then he was questioning where he was Sinking it.

“So I was Only trying to make sure he didn’t Move it and everyone was Great. I was Great with the spot he was choosing.
“I get it’s me and Rory, but that Gentle of conversation probably happened a dozen times yesterday in groups.
“Again, it was like Viktor was having the conversation, and I only walked over because it seemed like, ‘hey, let’s Only make sure everything is all right’, which I wasn’t even planning on getting involved and maybe shouldn’t have, but it seemed like they were maybe at a sticking Tally.
“So I thought maybe I could help.”
