Leeds United vs Derby prediction
Leeds won against Luton Town last Wednesday but they lost 1-0 away to Blackburn on Saturday afternoon which, had they won, would have seen them go top of the table.
They’re now three points adrift of Sheffield United and just one point behind 2nd placed Burnley.
Their two losses have sandwiched three successive victories and they will want to avoid dropping any more points as they know how close it can get at the end of the season in the Championship having missed out on automatics by six points to Ipswich.
Derby County have gone winless in their last four outings with two draws in a row and as of the weekend, two quick losses in a row.
In their last nine games the score has either been 1-1 or 2-1, either to them or to the opposition and it looked destined to be another 1-1 draw on Sunday but Sheffield Wednesday made a late comeback with two goals in the second half including a last gasp winner in the 94th minute.
That only proves tougher for Derby to get the win away at Leeds this weekend and the money is wise to go on them within a bet builder to boost the odds further.
Leeds United vs Derby betting tip
Swansea won over Derby on Wednesday 2-1 too, despite only having three shots all game they scored two in the opening 14 minutes and held on to that for the rest of the game with Derby grabbing one back via a Nathaniel Mendez-Laing penalty in the 65th minute.
But they couldn’t make the most of their plethora of chances and came away from that clash frustrated they couldn’t have at least got a deserved point.
Up against Leeds, it’s unlikely they will also be able to net more than once as the Whites have a strong defensive record while they have been ruthless at times in front of goal too.
A stat-backed bet on Leeds vs Luton came in last week with over 2.5 goals paying close to evens.
That followed a 4-3 win over Swansea which helped seal the likelihood of a team like Luton also struggling to keep the goals out a tough time at Elland Road.
It should be a similar circumstance in this clash with goals likely even from both sides, but one that will still likely favour Leeds coming away with the win.
Derby have seen plenty of 2-1 score lines and betting accordingly for that to happen again sees a decent price given how strong a favourites Leeds are.
