Sheffield Wednesday to beat Swansea @ 13/8

Swansea City snapped a run of five straight defeats when beating Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Sunday, but that victory was more than a little fortunate and it could be normal service resumed when the Swans host Sheffield Wednesday. 

Luke Williams’ men lost the shot count 19-9 and the corner count 11-3 against the Robins and Josh Tymon’s second-half winner was only the fourth goal Swansea have scored in their last eight games. 

The Swans managed only one shot on target in their latest home contest, which was a 2-0 defeat to Coventry City and Wednesday look a good bet to leave south Wales with three points. 

The Owls were beaten 2-1 at West Brom last time out, but the Baggies are a good side and Wednesday were at least a match for Tony Mowbray’s men. 

At 13/8, Wednesday look like a nice value play. 

Special of the Day

Over 3.5 goals in Celtic v Bayern Munich @ 1/1

Celtic have to give up quality and ability to Bayern Munich, but the Bhoys will have a packed Parkhead crowd to call on and it will be an intimidating atmosphere for even European football’s top performers. 

The Hoops have scored 34 goals in their last 10 Celtic Park matches and, while those strikes have come against far weaker opposition, Brendan Rodgers’ men look capable of contributing to a high-scoring clash. 

Celtic’s defence is unlikely to stand up to Bayern’s formidable attack, but the Bhoys forward line could cause the Bavarians problems and over 3.5 goals is the play in Glasgow. 

Longshot of the Day

Everton to beat Liverpool @ 6/1

Liverpool continue to force the pace at the top of the Premier League table, but perhaps the Reds’ 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Plymouth may be a sign of things to come for Arne Slot’s men. 

The Dutchman took the opportunity to rest many of his senior players for the trip to Home Park, but it was still a hugely disappointing defeat and for all that the Reds should be fresh for the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, the preparation doesn’t look ideal.

The Reds are a fantastic team, but that doesn’t mean Slot’s men haven’t enjoyed their fair share of fortune in away wins at Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Brentford and draws at Arsenal and Newcastle could have easily ended in defeats. 

Everton look rejuvenated under David Moyes and motivation will be at its peak with the Toffees hosting the final Goodison Park Merseyside derby. 

At 6/1 Everton are a cracking price and the Toffees can be backed to spring a Merseyside surprise.
