Wednesday at Cheltenham Festival has FOUR Grade 1 contests that look very interesting.
The Turners Novices’ Hurdle, also known as the Baring Bingham sees a great British vs Irish clash with The New Lion against Final Demand.
The former is trained by Dan Skelton who always does well with his horses over hurdles against Final Demand trained by Willie Mullins.
Another strong race is the Brown Advisory with Mullins training the top two in the market over the 3m novices’ chase.
Ballyburn vs Dancing City has the makings of a great clash and taht’s just the front two of the rest of a potential 18-strong field.
The feature race the Grade 1 Queen Mother Champion Chase sees Jonbon the clear favourite after having an incredible run of form and is worthy for an odds-on shot.
The final race of the day on Wednesday is the Grade 1 Champion Bumper with 36 entrants still in the running for what will be a maximum of 24 runners on the day, with little to really determine the winner currently.

Cheltenham Festival Wednesday (Day 2) treble: The New Lion, Dancing City and Jonbon to win – 27/1!
The New Lion
It’s rare to be impressed so much by a hurdler who is then still 3/1 at the ante-post and favourite for The Baring Bingham, known as the Turner’s Novices’ Hurdle.
The six-year-old has emerged as the Skelton team have been incredibly impressive this year and could have a great Cheltenham Festival.
Dancing City
With the news that The Jukebox Man is out of contention for the Brown Advisory, it throws a few more chances for Willie Mullins to assert his dominance in a Grade 1 field.
He’s set to send out Ballyburn and Dancing City into this race who are the two frontrunners in the ante-post market.
There are a couple things to consider between the two as it does seem a choice between the two at this stage.
One is how good Ballyburn is, he’s won two of his three chase starts only being beaten by the incredible Sir Gino at Kempton over 2m.
The step up to 2m5f looks to have suited him well and going up again to 3m for the Brown Advisory looks a sure thing.
But Dancing City has already proven, time and time again that he’s got the stamina.
Winning both of his chase starts over this kind of distance and even beat The Jukebox Man over hurdles at Aintree.
I feel like the money will go on Ballyburn to be a big favourite for the punters and Dancing City, will be the surprise winner who will just handle the conditions and distance that little bit better.
Jonbon
12 wins from 14 chase starts suggests this horse is still probably very underrated.
It might be to do with the manner in which he’s won or perhaps his loss to El Fabiolo back in the Arkle made punters believe he’s not as good.
But Jonbon has proved time and time again that even if his jumping isn’t always flawless he wins constantly.
With a win over El Fabiolo in the Celebration Chase last April saw him really confirm his ability having suffered a shock loss in January at Cheltenham to Elixir De Nutz.
Since then he’s won five in a row and this season he’s been jumping even better than ever cosily beating Energumene in the Clarence House Chase, winning just like his late stablemate Shishkin did ahead of the same horse three years prior.
