Paul Maurice’s troops picked up a scrappy 2-1 victory in the shootout against the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena. With the win, the Panthers accumulated their third consecutive win, keeping them in top spot in the Atlantic Division.

Rick Tocchet’s men showed no signs of change as they continued to struggle on home ice once again. The Canucks suffered a 4-3 OT setback on Tuesday night against the surging St.Louis Blues. The positive for Vancouver was they showed heart and battled back from a 3-1 deficit to garner a valuable point in the standings.

Florida Panthers at Vancouver Canucks predictions

Scoring the team’s lone goal in regulation time along with a highlight reel backhander in the shootout, Aleksander Barkov is heating up. The Finnish star has amassed 10 points in his last seven outings.

It will be a homecoming game for Sam Reinhart on Thursday night. The Vancouver native is having a brilliant season so far, piling up 39 points which is fifth-best in the NHL. In his last 21 outings, Reinhart has recorded at least a point in 19 occurrences.

In the blue paint, Sergei Bobrovsky didn’t face much action against the Kraken on Tuesday. The netminder stopped 17 of 18 shots he faced, collecting his 13th win of the year in his 19th start. It’s the first time in a long time we have seen Bobrovsky with subpar numbers in the save percentage department, as he currently possesses a .896 average on the season.

Between the pipes, Thatcher Demko’s return to the ice was spoiled by the Blues on Tuesday. After a lengthy spell on the injured list, the team’s undisputed starter stopped 21 of 25 shots fired his way. Now the rust has finally been shaken off, we’ll see if he can repeat last year’s performance where he collected 35 wins in 51 starts.

After going goalless in October, offseason free agent signing Jake DeBrusk is finding his form. The eight-year NHL vet leads the Canucks in the goals department with 13 this season. Through 492 regular season games, DeBrusk has logged 288 points.

Florida Panthers at Vancouver Canucks tips

Despite the Canucks getting the better of the Panthers in their previous three head-to-head clashes, Thursday’s tilt might reverse the recent trend. For whatever reason the Canucks look lost when they play on home ice in this 2024-25 NHL season. Through 14 games at Rogers Arena, Vancouver had only achieved securing the full two points in four instances.

For Florida, playing away from home hasn’t been too stressful for the club as they have earned nine wins in 14 away skirmishes. The defending cup champions are certainly hangover-free and still look like one of the elites of the league with the stacked roster that is assembled. This wager is based on the situational spot the Canucks are in with their awful home form hosting a strong counterpart like Florida. We feel Thursday night the Panthers can walk out of Vancouver under the win column.
