India vs Australia, 3rd Test, Day 4 LIVE Updates: Onus On Ravindra Jadeja And Nitish Reddy As IND Look To Avoid Follow-On

IND vs AUS (India National Cricket Team vs Australia National Cricket Team) 3rd Test Day 4 Live Updates: KL Rahul scored a half-century and looked set for a hundred but for a stunning one-handed catch from Steve Smith at first slip off Nathan Lyon that sent him back to the dressing room on 84. There was a brief rain-delay today as well but not much time was lost. India have to score 246 to avoid the follow-on.

With most of the first day also lost to rain Saturday, Head and Steve Smith’s second-day centuries ensured that India cannot realistically win the Test. More rain is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, raising India’s hopes of salvaging a draw and heading to Melbourne with the series locked at 1-1.

India’s XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep

Australia’s XI: Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood

48.5 – Has Reddy been strangled down leg? The men around the bat are convinced and Pat Cummins takes the review. Fired down leg, on a nagging length by Lyon, Reddy looks to tickle it fine and the ball passes close to the bat and it is collected well by Alex Carey moving to his left. The UltraEdge shows no spike when the ball is next to the bat. Australia lose their review.

The umpire has just informed the players that Ball Tracking is currently down, but UltraEdge remains available! That brief pause in play likely signals that this could be the final over before Lunch.

48.4 – Lyon changes his angle of attack as he comes from around the wicket. Pushes it across the batter, on the fuller side, Reddy jabs at the delivery with a straight bat. Gets an outside edge that goes low and well wide of Steven Smith at first slip to his right for a couple of runs.

The umpire just informs that the Ball Tracking is down!

Cummins gets to the ball, turns around and fires in a throw at the bowling end but misses. It would not have mattered much as Jadeja was in anyway.
