Biography: Shahid Khan Afridi, more commonly referred to as Lala or Boom Boom Afridi, is a former cricketer from Pakistan. He was born on March 1, 1977, in Khyber Agency, which is part of Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
Afridi began playing cricket when he was just 16 years old, making his debut for the Pakistani team in 1996. His aggressive and entertaining playing style, which included hitting big sixes and taking wickets with his leg-spin bowling, quickly earned him a reputation.
Over the course of more than two decades, Afridi played international cricket in all three formats. He captained the Pakistan team for a time and was a member of the team that won the ICC World Twenty20 in 2009.
