Thursday racing tips

  • EXETER
    12.10: Kap Ouest 5/6 (2pts)
    12.45: Party Vibes 4/6 (2pts)
    2.30: Issam 9/4 (1pt)
  • FFOS LAS
    3.17: Just Over Land 9/2 Each-way (1pt)

Kap Ouest

Lightly raced gelding who has lots of potential and run well on both maiden hurdle starts, bumping into Valgrand on hurdle debut at Uttoxeter, which has worked out well before placing third of nine behind odds-on favourite Royal Infantry.

He now becomes odds-on favourite himself for this maiden hurdle and it’s hard to see him lose this on form.

Both Tuxedo Junction and Don’t Wind Me Up have a little bit to find on the favourite on their current form and the five-year-old JP McManus-owned runner looks solid today.

Party Vibes

Up next is another top chance from an odds-on favourite which could make for a nice double as opposed to a couple of smaller payouts in singles.

Party Vibes had a big chase debut in listed company going third of six despite being 16/1.

The mare went well behind Shecouldbeanything and You Wear It Well, suggesting she should be a strong chaser with more experience.

She takes on chase debutant Sunday Soldier who looks a promising mare over fences, but is tougher to back on debut over fences.

Issam

Into The Park is favourite for this but didn’t run well last time out at Chepstow nor on his last run of last season at Newbury.

He’s still lightly raced at five-years-old but may need to bounce back to win this.

That’s why Issam appeals the most he’s always seemed like he’s got more to offer, won this last year and returns 1lb lighter than his last two efforts having won nicely prior at Wincanton.

That win has worked out well too as he went ahead of Resplendent Grey, off just 3lb lighter.

Just Over Land

Hurricane Highway is carrying top-weight but has been nudged down in the weights after a few runs out of the winners’ enclosure.

That coupled with going from 3m down to 2m5f looks like it could be beneficial but he’s 0-4 over fences and runs for the first time since February.

He’s also drifted in the odds for trainer Evan Williams who has just one win in 24 runners and is a little tougher to back than some opponents.

There can be cases made for a few of these but not overly strong cases, whereas Just Over Land has quite a lot going for him.

Decent form on his only two chase starts, up in trip today and should bounce back from what was a little disappointing at Chepstow last time out.
